Laser drilling

For many years, we have been able to use lasers to make small holes in thin materials.
With our precision-cutting laser process, we can drill holes with diameters as small as 0.05 mm in thin materials. These holes are used as filters for liquids or as particle filters. In addition, single holes are used as restriction for orifices in gas and liquid flow analysis equipment and for medical purposes.
We can make holes with a high degree of accuracy and roundness, and with diameter-to-length ratios of up to 1:5.

Moreover, we can drill even smaller holes than 0.03 mm using our most recent ablation techniques. Holes in the micron-range made with this ultra-short pulse technique are described in one of our other techniques (see: Micro laser ablation).
